Kandahar Ski Club was built by a group of skiing enthusiasts to promote the sport of skiing. It has the best location in Perisher Valley, facing North Perisher. Kandahar is a family club founded in the mid-1950s by Ethel and Gordon Robson and their friends. Over the years, the initial small group of members married, had children, and now Kandahar has four generations of families. The club’s prime location is thanks to the vision and hard work of the pioneering founding members. It started as a small lodge that members had to hike to, carrying their own gear and supplies. Today, Kandahar Lodge makes an excellent summer and winter mountain retreat.

THE LODGES

Kandahar operates two adjacent lodges at Perisher Valley. Ideally located on the slopes, these lodges offer direct ski-in/ski-out access.
K1, the original lodge built in 1955, sleeps 10 in 5 double rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Recently renovated, it combines charm with modern comfort.
K2, has 6 double rooms sleeping 12. Built in the mid-1960s and renovated in 2009/10, it has a large living area and ensuites.
